Our Curriculum
At The Early Music Studio, we specialize in nurturing a lifelong love for music in children while equipping families with the tools to inspire and continue the musical engagement outside of class. Our comprehensive multi-year programs are designed for infants, toddlers, and young children, offering an engaging and immersive experience in music education, helping them to achieve musical literacy.
We are trained and certified in the Musikgarten curriculum, a research-based approach that nurtures a child’s natural musical ability through play, movement, and interactive experiences. In addition to Musikgarten, we incorporate Kodály-inspired teaching methods, which emphasize singing, rhythm development, and active music-making. This combination provides a well-rounded, engaging learning experience that helps children develop a strong musical foundation, while also fostering creativity, coordination, and a lifelong love of music. Through singing, instrument exploration, movement, and storytelling, our classes create an exciting environment where children can grow musically and express themselves with confidence.Musikgarten is the leader in early childhood music education and is the only program which offers curricula for 0-9 year olds - newborns all the way through to group piano instruction. It is based on a keen understanding of how children learn, in both a general sense and, specifically, how they learn music. We provide a complete multi-year educational program that helps infants, toddlers, and children develop a deep love of music and the ability to express it. Our program offers home materials (recordings of the songs sung in class, age-appropriate instruments, and parent guidebooks) to reinforce lessons and involve the whole family in the fun. Each class features a variety of music activities designed specifically for young children, guided by trained and certified teachers who love what they do and inspire everyone to join in the fun.
Today, Musikgarten is proud to have hundreds of thriving studios across North America, bringing the joy of music education to countless families. But our impact doesn’t stop there—Musikgarten’s renowned curricula have been adapted and embraced in countries worldwide, including Germany, Malaysia, Korea, China, Austria, Switzerland, South Africa, New Zealand, and Taiwan.
At Musikgarten, we integrate nature into our classrooms, fostering a connection between music and the natural world. We believe in teaching children to value and respect their environment as an essential part of their growth and education.
Our commitment to sustainability extends to our products and packaging, which are thoughtfully designed with the environment in mind. By combining music education with an appreciation for nature, we nurture well-rounded, mindful, and environmentally conscious individuals.
Over the years, we have carefully developed a tailor-made music curriculum designed to meet the unique needs of each group of students. Rooted in the National Arts Standards for Music Learning, this curriculum blends structured learning with creative exploration.
We incorporate themes such as farm animals, insects, and seasons to introduce key musical concepts in a way that feels natural and exciting for young learners. Through singing, children develop their sense of pitch, while playing instruments and performing rhythmic patterns like ostinatos enhance their coordination and musical understanding. We focus on expression and dynamics to help students make their music sound dynamic, along with steady beat activities which build a strong rhythmic foundation. To make learning even more immersive, we use puppets, visuals, circle games, dances, finger plays, and body awareness activities. Musical stories, exploration of musical form, simple sequences, and choreography further enrich the experience.
Students also listen to music from around the world, feel and move to different styles, and learn about influential musicians, fostering both appreciation and a deeper connection to the vast world of music.
